Edinburgh, Scotland.... what a place!
Due to the snow in Rome, we were sittin in that airport last Friday night to leave to Scotland for a long while. We didn't get into Edinburgh until quite late, around 1 in the morning or so? But our first impression when we did arrive in Scotland was great, due to our awesome taxi driver. Going from a grumpy butt taxi driver in Rome who didn't talk, to the most friendly talkative man, was a nice change. Oh and probably because he spoke English ( I was like YESSSS finally I can communicate with people! ) He drove on the left side of the road (which all the UK does, and is very confusing to me! haha ) and took us right to our Hostel in the heart of old-town Edinburgh. The hostel was right next to the castle, which came as a shock as we hopped out of that taxi and looked up at the amazing-ness of a castle at night.
We woke up Saturday morning and grabbed some good ol' fashion bacon and eggs sandwiches. Then we began our wondering of the most gorgeous green country. The next three days consisted of a train ride to Stirling for a day (Stirling being the place of the Stirling castle, the William Wallace monument, and tons of gorgeous country side) , we spent much time in old-town and the new-town of Edinburgh, walked through so many streets, got lost then had to find taxi's because we were off the map too far, watched the Super Bowl at a bar starting at 11:30 pm, walked to the top of hills to get great city views of the city, and enjoyed every last second of Edinburgh.
The Scottish accent is so cool, I love just about everything about the accent, the language and the slang words. More importantly I loved the humor, chatty-ness, and friendliness of Scottish people!
After this trip I decided Scotland is absolutely one of my favorite countries!
